The goal of Community Engagement isn’t to get everyone on the same page - it is so that everyone feels that they have been heard - to get them involved early in the process so that they feel that they are part of the solution.  Building trust, fostering inclusivity, and improving decision making are always the end goals.

There are many ways to convey a design. Design Guidelines and Pattern Books are excellent tools to ensure that long after the design team has gone, the developer and builders can understand the history and design intent. Outlining the specific desired streetscape and urban fabric preserves the value and promotes a sense of place.
